PureReader – ein klares Design für Google Reader

Jump to english version

Einfache Installation+Update: Pure Reader – a clean beautiful GoogleReader style

English version: PureReader a clear design for GoogleReader

On Na’Design I’ve discovered a beautiful clear design for Google Reader. It was scripted only for Safari, but the CSS-Code is published under CC-License and everyone can port it to diffrent systems. I ported it to Firefox. If you want to use it , you have to install the Add-on Stylish.

Here is the style:PureReader (improved for new UI)      (old Pure_reader)

Easy installation+update: Pure Reader – a clean beautiful GoogleReader style

After installation the GReader look like this (click to enlarge):

I ‘ve made a few changements to the original code to provide a better usability. Buttons for “Previous/Next Item” and the source of the articles are included for example.

  1. Are u gonna get the latest version cause its fucked up now with Googles New fast product switcher.

    • I try to update it during weekend

      • If you updated it, how come on userstyles it still says last update = December, 2010?

O and could you help community with updating it for the new Google Reader UI?

And we’ll use the new Stylebot this time. Its way better than Stylish.

I already uploaded the CSS to Stylebot @ http://stylebot.me/styles/969

  3. Now the code is updated. Stylebot is for Chrome. This Code is for FF + Stylish-Extension

    • it’s still a little bit mess up on ff.

      this is what I get,

      http://i.imgur.com/BHcRP.png

and if i want to install this on chrome, what are the steps i should take?

    • And stylish works with Chrome too as you know, and all Stylish styles actually work with Stylebot, cause if you have Stylebot installed, and your on a stylish page in Chrome theres a button below for installing it into Stylebot as you can see here @ http://goo.gl/bnXF4

And you can share that Stylish to stylebot.com whose site interface completely blows away userstyles.org, which is pathetic for a site whose whole idea is to change the look of sites like that.

But anyways it still doesn’t work good with new Google Reader UI, heres a screenshot of what I get @ http://goo.gl/64XU5

  4. In Chrome it is messed up, because the style is improved for FF and Chrome don’t know what to do with -moz-and-so-on css descriptions.

For FF I know that there are still some problems but for now I don’t have the time to improve it. You have to wait a bit or use one of the extensions

  5. Thanks a ton for taking the time to share, Regards Chris D
